On Friday, November 1, over 400 guests showed up in Chinatown decked out in their most creative costumes to celebrate the launch of Boston Art Review’s Issue 13: Make Believe.
The VIP pre-party treated guests to a sake tasting by The Koji Club. At 8:30, the dance floor opened up and DJs KNSZWRTH and Gogo kept it alive for the rest of the night.
During the party, there were live coding video performances by Boston Tech Poetics (Char Stiles, Jessica Stringham, Blktrmlne, Shawn Toubeau, and Jame Coyne.) Exhibited works by Allison Tanenhaus, Supreetha K, and Rasita Kartarharja adorned the room while lighting by Jim Manning lit up the dance floor.
An eclectic house plant was ultimately crowned the winner of the costume contest led by our friends at SIDE presents after an impromptu dance-off.
Issue 13 was certainly welcomed with all kinds of make believe!
